The Missions Experience

We close out a chilly January and open the month of February with the warmth of expectation of what God has in store for FBC Charlotte.  Be part of what God is doing; start attending a Sunday School class, attend Prayer on Wednesday Night, or sign up for a retreat.

In our Bible in One Year Study we are starting Exodus in the OT and in Galatians in the NT. It’s never too late to begin. Check out the link on our website’s Home Page or get your paper copy from the foyer.

Visit the church’s website to see  What’s Happening at FBC Charlotte. You can read about and sign up for events, give tithes and offerings, and contact us.

We now have an ASL interpreter available for our second service!

FBCC Youth Ministry News

At the time of writing this, we have 37 youth signed up for Winter Retreat. This is our largest group yet, and most of them are young men. I am grateful that so many are taking time to invest in their spiritual lives and are seeking the Lord. My hope is they will meet with God at the retreat and that he will radically change them and use them for his kingdom. Can you imagine how 37 teen followers of Jesus who want to made disciples could affect our towns and schools? May God send workers into his harvest! As you read this, the retreat will have just concluded. Would you make it a point to engage a student and ask them about their experience at Winter Retreat and what God did in and around them? I think you’ll both be glad you did!

Pre-Easter Retreat is April 2-4. A $25 deposit per camper is due Feb 15. Please get with me if you have any questions.

Thank you,

A Word From Pastor Duane

I Corinthians 3:9 says: “For we are God’s fellow workers . . ..”

I Thessalonians 1:2 – “We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers, . . .”.  This verse communicates my thoughts and emotions for you all in the last month.  You all have been amazing, a blessing – Sharon and I are THANKFUL for you.

I appreciate your texts, calls, visits, meals, and especially your prayers.  The Lord has been FAITHFUL, and He continues to be.  Thank you also for carrying on without missing a beat.

That picture of a church, a real, alive, caring, serving, ministering church, has been painted by and through you.  I have been able to share with people how the Lord has used you to minister to me and to each other.  Let’s keep going!

Please set aside quality time with the Lord to seek and receive His direction about what you are to sacrificially give to the building fund; faith to follow His direction; and the heart to trust Him to provide as you obey Him.  I Corinthians 3:9 says: “We are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building.”  We are NOT alone in this project!  We cannot do this on our own.  Being God’s fellow workers will yield fruit for which we can give Him glory!

Then, make plans to attend the Celebration Banquet on Saturday, February 21st, at 6 pm at our new location, bringing your commitment card filled out and ready to see what God will do as we join Him to complete Project 139!

               I love you all!

~~Pastor Duane
