The Missions Experience

Here we are, May already. Our moms and maturing teens mean everything. First, take mom out for a meal, treat her like a queen, not just one day, but every day: she’s always special. Don’t forget the next generation advancing into the world. Celebrate their achievements. Pray as they carry God’s calling into this world and their continued mission field.

Our Bible in One Year is taking us through the birth of the church. We begin with Pentecost. Acts 2. One man realizes his calling, stands up among them all calling everyone to repentance. But that is not the end, it is just the beginning of the church.

We’ve recently updated our website. This is your source for What’s Happening at FBC Charlotte.

You can discover and sign up for events, especially VBS that is coming, give tithes and offerings, and contact us. You can also catch our Live Stream directly from the Home Page. It is your one-stop for everything FBCC. Visit our website today!! www.fbccharlotte.org

Our Mission Opportunities

May is our preparation month for VBS. We have a couple of opportunities that we discussed in our meeting. Tuesdays, May 14 and May 28. We plan to canvass our neighborhood to let them know about Vacation Bible School and invite children. Our goal is to knock on every door in Charlotte handing out ice pops and invites. Contact Sharon or Emily Davis for more details. – Continue to pray for VBS throughout this month – VBS is June 2nd- 5th.

FBCC Youth News

Last month we took 27 students and 4 sponsors to the Pre-Easter Retreat at Alto Frio and had a great time at the retreat. The students learned about Samson and were ultimately pointed to Jesus, who rightly did all that Samson failed to do as a judge of Israel. We had tire issues on the bus there and back, but the students were good sports, and we were grateful for God’s protection and provision.

Sunday, May 5 we will have our youth camp fundraiser in the fellowship hall immediately after the 11 am service. Everyone is invited to come eat, and because it is Cinco De Mayo, we will serve Mexican food.

You can donate any amount for the meal, and students will bring desserts that will be auctioned off. All money raised will go toward student’s youth camp costs and will be split among the students who help with the meal and bring an item for the auction. Thank you all for your love and support of our youth. We are grateful for a church (you!) that values our youth and shows that through prayers and generosity.

          God bless you all!

A Word From Pastor Duane

Lamentations 3:25 says: “The Lord is good to those who wait for Him. To the soul who seeks Him.” Do you find it hard to wait? I do. Yet, for the believer, waiting on the Lord is always good.  Isaiah 40:31 says:

“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”

When you find yourself being impatient, allow the Holy Spirit to help you to wait on Him. Even when the situation requires us to wait on someone or something else – we are learning to wait on the Lord. Remember, the Lord is good to those who wait for Him, and He renews our strength. Wait on the Lord!

Vacation Bible School is right around the corner.  Pray, prepare, publicize, and participate.  What an amazing opportunity to connect with our community to share and demonstrate the love of Jesus. I am asking the Lord to use VBS to add to His Church, will you join me?

Please pray for summer camps and folks who are going on mission trips, (John Mark to Africa May 13-25; Andersons to Scotland from the end of May to the beginning of August; and 6 of our folks to Peru August 3-10) - for Jesus to be exalted through us.

Congratulations 2024 graduates! Please be praying for them and their families as they follow the Lord’s plan for their life.

                 I love you ALL!
